‘May I have the courage today to live the life that I would love, to postpone my dream no longer, but do at least what I came here for , and waste my heart on fear no more.

About Marianne

For the last thirty years I have worked in the healing arts fine-tuning my access to the imaginal, the creative and the embodied feminine. I qualified as a Community Arts Facilitator at the Cork Crawford College of Art & Design .   This enabled me to work therapeutically and creatively with community projects for young people with disability, addiction, and mental health issues.

Here is a poem I love at present

The worst thing we ever did
was put God in the sky
out of reach pulling the divinity
from the leaf,
sifting out the holy from our bones,
insisting God isn’t bursting dazzlement
through everything we’ve made
a hard commitment to see as ordinary,
stripping the sacred from everywhere
to put in a cloud man elsewhere,
prying closeness from your heart.

The worst thing we ever did
was take the dance and the song
out of prayer
made it sit up straight
and cross its legs
removed it of rejoicing
wiped clean its hip sway,
its questions,
its ecstatic yowl,
its tears.

The worst thing we ever did is pretend
God isn’t the easiest thing
in this Universe
available to every soul
in every breath.

I am a qualified Yoga Teacher both with British Wheel of Yoga, and Yoga / Movement teacher with Kripalu Yoga, USA.   I am co-creator of Contemporary Yoga Teacher Training here in Ireland where I have been involved in training teachers in the past.

I teach dance and ritual through Souldance an innovative Contemporary somatic movement practice that came out of my training with Shiva Rea in Trance Dance, 5 Rhythms, together with other creative forms of awareness through movement.  I have co-facilitated workshops in Family Constellations, and Self-Awareness through Movement for many years.

My work is a synthesis of several approaches Yoga, Somatic Awareness, Authentic Movement ,5 Rhythms, Amerta Movement, & Continuum together with my own ongoing inquiry and where life has taken me. I am a student of Authentic Movement with Fran Lavendel. At present Im inspired by Francis Weller’s work on grief and have completed his ‘Soulful Life’ program. I continue to be interested in his ‘grief work.’ Other areas of interest and study are Ancestral Healing with Thomas Hubel.

There are many teachers with whom I have studied and who have inspired my work .. my thanks go to Susan Harper, Val Leoffler, Fran Lavendel, Prapto, Joan Davis, Karuna, Kripalu Yoga.

I have an MA in Core Process Psychotherapy  and accredited with UKCP working in private practice here in Ireland.

My work continues to grow out of my own search for connection through creativity, grounded in day-to-day life, family, relationship and work.  In the last while my work has begun to take its own form, away from any one particular teaching and practice and is my own alchemy of all that I have learned and continue to practice. Offering sacred space and teaching is part of how I practice now.

I live in West Cork, a beautiful part of Ireland, with my partner and my dogs.    Other areas of interest for me are music, art, fashion and design.    I love poetry and animals.

Intention:  My Intention is to create a safe and protective space where we can feel more ease and space in our bodies and our hearts, to breathe a little deeper, rest, and through our felt-sense explore ways of re-connecting to our ‘ one wild and precious life’ ( Mary Oliver)
